The Shoes of the Water Snake (Sándor Erdős)

Shoes of the water snake - Sándor Erdős - I'll tell you a story

A tiny glider on the shore of a small lake, asking his mother. The cinquefoil has shoes, so why doesn't she? Her mother looks kindly, her answer is quiet. - The owner of small shoes needs feet. To glide you don't need feet in meadow or in water. His mother's quiet words were a defiance. Can anyone else? No justice! Why doesn't she have shoes? Tears stream from her little eyes, her sorrow is great. Her mother took pity on her, her answer was not long in coming. - But learn to walk in them before you fall. The little slippered child got his new shoes. "I'll never fall on my belly!" he defiantly said. I'll never fall on my feet. The little glider had no legs or hands. It was only now that he realised that he was stupid and the little shoes didn't fit. He really doesn't have any feet. He'll have to wait till he grows out of them. His mother laughed at the astonished little glider. She looks lovingly at her son on the shore of the still lake.

Elemér, the botsáska (Sándor Erdős)

Elemér, the botsáska - Sándor Erdős - I'll tell you a story

Elemér Bot the batshit was munching on a leaf, feeding all day with nothing else on his mind. His figure is still slender yet he doesn't grow potroha, he's never eaten cake he wasn't that stupid. For if he ate much, his ham would grow. He'd look like a tree trunk he wouldn't have the shape of a stick. How would he hide in a canopy? It wouldn't be held by a branch. A fat log sitting on a bush? That would be strange. So he eats leaves and his belly doesn't grow. He's got no stomachs, that's for sure.

The race of Tappancs, the little rabbit (Zsófia Cseh-Dálnoky)

Tappancs the little rabbit's futoversenye Csah Dalnoky Zsofia I'm telling you a story

This is the story of a tiny rabbit who overcame himself with courage and a heart of gold! How? I'll tell you how, children! Let's see, where to begin!! Chapter one Once upon a time, across the ocean, there was a round forest, a fairy tale forest. In the middle of it, in his home at the base of a huge old pine tree, lived a tiny little rabbit called Dabbit. He had a warm, light brown silky coat, long pointed ears that looked at everything and huge hopping feet. The little rabbit lived in everlasting friendship, peace and happiness with all the little inhabitants of the forest. He loved to talk with the big Mr Brumi, the bear, who always gave him golden honey for his morning bread; with Tusi, the hedgehog with the spiky coat, who always gave him lots of smiling red apples in the autumn. He was also very friendly with Mogyi, the little squirrel in the light brown coat, who was always jolly and merry, and Uhu, the wise old owl. The woods were full of life and merriment. At Easter, Tappancs had the very important task of painting eggs, and in the autumn, under Spike's guidance, of apple-picking; the hazelnut and walnut-picking was done under Goosey's direction. At this time, the good friends danced and sang a lot. One fine day, Uhu had a great idea: - What if we had a running race in the forest?- the wise man wondered to himself.
