Once upon a time, there was a small town. In this tiny town, every year they had a carnival. It was a huge costume party with lots of doughnuts and all sorts of other goodies.

People started preparing for the costume ball weeks in advance. Everyone was talking about what costume they would wear that year. Whether we were talking about a small child or an elderly person, the most important topic in January and February was always the carnival ball.

An important condition for the participants was that they could only wear costumes of their own design. This required their full creativity and dexterity.

This was also the case during the last carnival. There were princesses, fairies, kings, witches, snowmen, dogs, cats, clowns, superheroes, policemen, doctors, firemen and even frogs. Everyone looked amazing in their costume.

But they looked at someone strangely. She was not wearing the traditional colourful, cheerful costume, but a tight, grey jumpsuit. Her face and hair were also dyed grey. People were suspicious:

- I wonder what he was dressed as?

- Why does it look like this?

Some even laughed at it:

- I see you couldn't afford any other colours! - they said mockingly.

But I haven't mentioned that there was a costume competition at this ball. There, everyone showed off the wonderful costumes they had made for themselves. Last up was the grey man.

He went up on stage and demonstrated what he was: a living, moving stone statue.

That's when they realised that he was actually the most creative! Even though it was monochrome and grey, her costume was the most amazing, as no one had ever thought of this idea before.

No wonder those who mocked and ridiculed him were ashamed. However, as soon as it was announced that the first prize winner of the costume contest was the most creative and unique costume, the grey man, there was a huge round of applause.

People were smiling and happy all night long, and everyone learned that carnival is about expressing your creativity and individuality, no matter what costume you wear.
