Once upon a time there was a great tree beyond the Peruvian Sea, with three hundred and sixty-six branches, and on each branch three hundred and sixty-six kites (a bird of prey with a larger body than the raven, a rusty red colour with darker spots, and a strong forked tail - ed.). Whoever does not listen to my tale, let him pinch it all in the night.
Once upon a time, a prince went to visit the house of the neighbouring king. This king had three daughters. The youngest had a beautiful puppy.
This puppy was so beautiful that the prince loved him very much. He told the girls that he wouldn't give it for much if he could have it, but they said they loved it so much that they wouldn't give it for anything.
But the prince made friends with the youngest princess, and she gave him the puppy. When he was far away from the city, he remembered that he hadn't asked the prince what the dog's name was. He himself did not dare to go back to ask, but sent the carriage.
He tells her:
- Go back, but speak wisely, because all three princesses will be together.
The coachman goes back and says to the youngest princess:
- Serene queen, he said, do you know who, what is the name of that, do you know who?
Says the princess:
- As you are, so am I! That's the name of, you know, what. Tell that to you know who!
The coachman went back to his master and told him what the princess had said. The prince understood from this that the name of the dog was Fear, for neither the coachman nor the youngest girl dared to speak clearly in front of the girls.
