Once the dogs had a feast. Bodri put up a lot of bones, cooked them, and then brought the Cheese to taste them. Sajo tasted the dumplings, but they had neither taste nor smell, because there was no sour cream on them. The dog looked for the sour cream, but there was none at the house. Somebody go to the shop quickly!
But who should go? The dog could not leave the cooking. He sees the cat, sends for the sour cream. The cat runs to the shop for sour cream. When they paid him, he took it home. He was hungry, so he licked it off. He thought, they'll never know. Then he went on his way. He thought again; he licked it again. There was hardly any left in the bowl. He was close to the dogs, he was ashamed of himself for taking so little sour cream, so he ate the rest of the sour cream.
The dogs ran in front of him, eagerly waiting.
- Bring the cat the sour cream!
The cat lied that the shopkeeper did not give you sour cream. But the greyhound saw the cat's mustache with sour cream.
- The cat is lying, he ate our sour cream!
They went to the cat, and the cat ran up the tree and from there it was rubbing (angrily blowing - ed.) at the dogs. When they saw that the cat didn't want to come down from the tree, they went into the house and ate the dumplings without milk.
Since then, the dog cannot look at the cat.
