In the beginning, when the Lord God created the world, He gave the cow no horns, only teeth. He gave the horse horns, but no teeth.
The cow was very sad that she had no horns, because all the animals attacked her and she could not defend herself. He went to the Lord God to complain.
He asked the good God to take the horn from the horse and give it to him, otherwise he would have no rest from the animals.
The Lord God said:
- I no longer take the horns from the horse once I have given them. But I don't mind if you swap, the horse gives you his horns and you give me yours.
So the cow went to the horse and told him what the Lord God had advised.
The horse said:
- All right, cow, I don't mind, I'll give you my horn, for I can defend myself with my feet, and I'll kick anyone who hurts me. But give me your teeth in return.
Once the exchange was made, the horse gave the cow its horns, the cow gave the horse its upper teeth. Since then the cow has the horn and the horse has the tooth.
