The well (Hungarian folk tale)

Once the Hungarian man dug a round water pit in his yard. The German came and asked:

- What are you digging, myafi?

- A water pit, said the Hungarian man.

- Gut, gut - said the German.

- 'It's not a well,' said the Hungarian man, 'it's a water pit.

- Gut, gut - said the German again.

- Well, if it's a well, let it be a well, said the Hungarian man.

So the water pit became a well.
