Once upon a time, there was a little frog called Benő. Every night he went out to the lakeside to listen to the stars tell him stories. All he needed was his imagination, for the stars were always very mysterious to him.
One evening, while Beno the Frog was admiring the stars and listening to the quiet whisper of the breeze, he saw a small fish swimming across the pond.
The frog called the fish and asked him why he was swimming alone in the night:
- Good evening, Fishy! I am Benő Frog. May I ask why you're swimming around in this lake so late at night?
- Good evening, Benő! And I'm Aaron. I'm just going for a swim, because the water is really warm, and I'm looking at the stars. You come here often, don't you?
- Yes, I love the lakeshore. It's always calm and quiet here.
- You bet! Sometimes it's a bit boring to see the same thing over and over again.
- I've never been bored here. 'There's always something interesting to discover,' said Benő.
- Maybe you're right - Aaron the fishy thought. Tell me one interesting thing you see!
- See that momentary flash of colour in the distance? That could be fireworks. Once, when I hiked to the edge of the village there, I saw that while all the people were dancing and singing, these colourful flashes of lightning were flying up into the sky. Very loud, but also wonderfully beautiful.
- Wow, I hadn't noticed until now! - Aaron exclaimed. I was so busy floating that I didn't realise what a flash of strange but very beautiful lights were in the sky.
From then on, Benő Frog and Aron Hal became friends. Although it was late, they were not sleepy. Benő invited Aaron to his lakeside cottage for a late-night chat. The view was better from there, and they could get a better view of the fireworks.
Fortunately, Aaron had no problem living in the water, because Benő loved to swim, so half of his home was on land and the other half in the lake. So whenever he remembered, he could jump headfirst into the water.
Aaron the fishy really liked Benő's house. He also admired the bed of leaves and the picture the frog had woven of flowers.
And the fireworks were indeed much more visible from Ben's home. The two new friends agreed to watch all fireworks together from now on. And they kept their promise. In fact, they've even started making up stories about the stars together! Even now, they are looking at the stars, if they haven't fallen asleep.
