Lina paced around the apartment angrily. She opened every drawer and cupboard door, threw the sofa cushions on the floor.

- Not here either! Nowhere! Where on earth is he? - she gasped.

- You turn the whole house upside down. Look at the mess you've made! It's impossible to practice in peace next to you. What are you looking for? - his sister Bia growled.

- My pink bow. Gone! How can I perform tomorrow without it? What do I put in my hair like this?

- You'd better practice a bit more yourself! You haven't taken your shoes off for days," his brother shook his head.

They have been preparing for a long time for the performance, where they will perform a dance together and separately.

Lina has wanted to do ballet ever since she first saw her sister on stage. She was enchanted by the music and the light movements, but she was especially fond of the tulle skirts and the high-combed bun.

She was a talented dancer, but instead of practicing at home, she often preferred to look at herself in the mirror or try out new hairstyles.

Especially since she received the beautiful pink bow from her sister a few days ago. It was so pretty in her hair! She put it on her head almost every night and then imagined it spinning and twirling like a beautiful fairy in front of the audience. She was a little nervous, though, because it was her first performance.

He searched his room again, his cupboards and his desk, but found the hair ornament nowhere. She sat down on her bed and began to cry bitterly.

- Come on, don't cry. It's just a bow. You'll be wonderful without it. That is, if you don't mess up the jump you really need to practice! - Bia hugged him.

But Lina did not listen. She threw herself on her stomach on the bed and pulled her pillow over her head.

It was only at dinner that she came out again, but when she saw her mother putting bow noodles on her plate, she burst into tears again.

- Oh, my bow! My lovely pink bow!

The whole family tried in vain to comfort her, and they searched for the lost treasure all night, but they never found it, neither the hair ornament nor Lina's cheerfulness.

- I'll lend you my blue bow," her sister offered when they finally went to bed.

- It's yours! It goes with your clothes! You can't give it to me! What will be tied to your bosom then?

- Not so important to me, little sister. The audience will be watching us dance. Trust me, no one will notice if I don't have it in my hair," smiled Bia.

- How nice you are! Maybe you're right. But alas! I haven't practiced for days! What if I mess up the jump again? - the little girl jumped out of bed.

But his mother no longer allowed him to dance.

- You'll have some time in the morning before you leave. But sleep now! - he ordered the girls sternly, then tucked them in.

In the morning, Lina emerged from under the duvet as fresh as never before. She hadn't even taken off her nightgown, just slipped on her ballet slippers.

- Ouch! Something has poked me! - he looked into it after kicking it off.

- Well, well! The pink bow! - Bia peeped into her top and laughed.

- You see, if you had practiced, you would have found it long ago!

- "You're right," Lina admitted, and although she would have liked to comb her hair into a bun and pin the magnificent headdress on her head, she put her shoes back on and rehearsed the jump until she had to get dressed and leave. Then he was in such a hurry that he nearly left his skirt at home.

- What if I do mess up the dance? - she asked her sister on the way.

- I missed a step at the first presentation. And guess what? Nobody noticed! The audience applauded and threw beautiful flowers at my feet. I took the ribbon off the prettiest bouquet and kept it as a souvenir.

- Wow! And where is that tape now?

- I knitted it into a bow and gave it to my little sister to wear in her hair for her first performance," Bia smiled, and Lina felt like she had the best sister in the world.

It was a great performance. The girls were flying around the stage, twirling, spinning and jumping gracefully to the soft music.

The audience applauded for a long time at the end and threw colourful flowers at the feet of the ballerinas.

Lina also picked a bouquet, and at home she carefully removed the ribbon to keep it as a keepsake.

- The ribbon on the flowers is so pretty. Why are you taking it off? - her mother asked.

Lina replied with a smile:

- Because now I know that it's not the bow that makes the flower and the ballerina beautiful!
